Over 250,000 people in England are diagnosed with cancer every year and around 130,000 die from it. However, for most people it is their age and their diet that contribute to the development of bowel cancer. These are awards for people who have gone through some serious life threatening diseases and come out on the other side all hail and hearty. While a large number of people with cancer overcome the disease and live fulfilled lives for many years, some succumb within a few months. It can be very helpful to people affected by cancer to indentify a local support group. In the Nottingham Cancer Patients and Carers Support Group we meet monthly to share friendship, we share our experience of cancer and the services we have used. We also share a wide range of knowledge and skills.
